Dr. Jeremy Lim- MBBS, MPH, MRCS (Edin), MMed (Surg), FAMS

JLim PhotoDr. Jeremy Lim has assumed the role of partner and head, health and life sciences practice, Asia Pacific in Oliver Wyman, the global consulting firm with effect Jan 2014.

He is widely regarded as an authority on the Singapore health system, having held senior level executive roles in the Singapore government, restructured hospitals and private sector. His public sector experiences include Senior Consultant in the Ministry of Health Singapore, Director Research and Education in SingHealth, Singapore’s largest healthcare group and Executive Director (and later Chair) of the SingHealth Centre for Health Services Research which focuses on in-depth analytics to support board and senior management decision making.

In addition, Dr. Lim maintains faculty appointments in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, National University of Singapore where he teaches health policy and management. He is an active commentator on health policy locally and internationally and has written extensively on health policy and management in various Singapore publications including TODAY, Straits Times and Business Times newspapers. He is chair of the steering committee for NIHA (NUS Initiative to Improve Health in Asia), an initiative to strengthen health policy research and education in Asia, Member, International Advisory Board, Health Authority Abu Dhabi and Board Member, Advisory Council Behavioral Sciences Institute, Singapore Management University.

Dr. Lim is an alumnus of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore where he completed both undergraduate medical and graduate surgical training (Masters in Medicine [Surgery]). He completed the Masters in Public Health program at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health under the aegis of the Fulbright program and the Senior Management Program, Civil Service College Singapore. Dr. Lim serves in the community in a number of roles including Secretary of the College of Public Health and Occupational Physicians, Academy of Medicine, Singapore, President of the Fulbright Association (Singapore) and President of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health alumni chapter.

He has just completed a book on the Singapore health system (Myth or Magic: The Singapore Health System; to be released Sept 2013). He has previously taught/ conducted strategic sessions for diverse agencies including Philips Healthcare, Singapore Hospice Council, Edwards Life Sciences, Singapore Health Services, Parliamentary Committee on Medical Tourism, South Korea, Civil Service College Singapore and Academy of Medicine Singapore.

  1. Hi Sir, just curious to know, do you still see patients nowadays?

    1. Yes I still see patients. Not surgery patients but mainly in a primary care setting.
